Target audience

The audience that im targeting is people who live in an urban environment. My prime city in question was Bath, Somerset. The style of a 'informal report' for my work i think suits the main question of, are people happy in an urban environment.

I will go up to the people i intend on being the audience and ask them the questions:

Are you happy?

Why?

Is it effected by and urban environmet?

Once i ask them i plan to put a picture of them next to the answers of these questions and then some scenery pictures after that.

SHOOT PLAN 1

For this shoot im going to use different locations around the college to give it a social environment. But instead of using random people as the subject i will be using chosen people to be within the photos.

And here is the rough plan. No lights will be used as the college has ceiling lights and that will give me good shadows where it isnt good enough to hit their face. The camera will be a cannon 200D with a 35mm lens.

i never ended up doing this shoot as i didnt see the link between the project and this style of shoot.

Shoot plan 2

For this shoot i will be going to the streets of bath and taking pictures of random people who live in an urban environment. The cameras ill be using is a, Cannon 2000D with a 35-55mml lens. And then i used a Pentax film camera with a wide angle lens. I will ask them the 3 questions, Happy? Why? Effected by environment? i will use natural light as the light source.

Shoot plan 3

After the second shoot i realised that i might need a bit more light, aswell as this my film from the first camera never printed. So i went out again to Bath and this time i brought a flashgun and reflector. Same lenses for the cameras, and same cameras.

In reflection i think the natural light source was way better than the flash gun as it was the perfect amount of lighting and the flashgun gave it way too much light. I also didnt use the reflector as i saw how much light was coming off the flashgun and didnt need more light on the subjects face.

Exhibition planning

Here is a 1 minute sketch of my rough plan of what my book will be, it will just be a repeat of this.

3.png

For example i have this diagram that i drew in 2 minuets demonstrating what the wall would look like. I would ahve the photos that i was unable to get the text for in a small cluster, and then followed by the larger more significant photos that have the text next to it. I will also add the scenic photos in a cluster aswell.

Due to me running low on time i am no longer going to make the book myself, instead im going to buy the book and get it delivered for the exhibition. If i did have more time i would make the book, but im just unable to do so.

Dark Room Use

In this project i do intend on using the darkroom, most portraits that i took using the analogue camera i also had a landscape picture to go along with it. There for i had a lot of dark room work to do.

For the darkroom i had to use: Developer, water and fixer. This brings along the safety of a darkroom, for example not to use any of the irritants and then touch my eyes or mouth. I also have to use the red light when developing. Some protections could be latex gloves, goggles and aprons. The floor also might be easy to slip on, so take care.
